Happy holidays to everyone! For a lot of people, this is the time of the year when we reflect and think about all the things we are thankful for. For me, I am so thankful for being able to enjoy the outdoors and having the beautiful Rockies in my backyard to explore. More importantly, I am thankful for all the friends and family that are supportive of my adventures. We are so lucky to have what we have which makes some of these following problems hilariously insignificant in the grand scheme of things. In the spirit of celebrating and being thankful, I want to share all the adventurer’s first world problems I collected over the years.
1. Trying to wipe your glasses or lens with your shirt but realize everything you are wearing is designed to not absorb water
2. When your friends are kind enough to wait for you on a hike but they start walking as soon as you catch up
3. “They need to make granola bars that don’t become rock solid when it’s cold.” – Collin
4. Realizing it’s not socially acceptable to eat an entire bowl size m&ms in one sitting when you are in the city
5. The unexpected amount of traffic you encounter when you drive to the mountains at the same time when people are stumbling home from the bars
6. Going with that one friend that tells you “You will be fine, it’s easy” before scrambling up a route or passing you the quickdraws.
7. The biner, toque or socks that’s on sale but doesn’t match your color scheme
8. Having no color scheme so you blend into the background in every photo.
9. “The annoying smoke from the community evacuating forest fires is obstructing my view” – Me
… Sorry
It’s kinda pretty actually
10. Not carrying enough toilet paper to save 0.001 oz on your base weight
And now for my personal favorite moment:
The day when it rained so hard in Radium that we couldn’t go on the hike we wanted so we had to settle for playing Halo on the Xbox in the trailer
I hope you found these funny or at least not a complete waste of your time. What are some of your favorite Adventurer’s first world problems? Let me know below!
Thank you for reading! I hope your 2017 was a year to be thankful for and I wish you a happy new year with many more adventures!
