In December I embarked on another chapter of adventure, a three-week roadie through the South Island of New Zealand with my friend and fellow traveler Nathan (@thedustyrover). We met up with Abel on “working” holiday in New Zealand and we had a blast exploring the wilderness of this beautiful country.
What is the most unforgettable part of the trip? To me was the freedom. New Zealand gave me the opportunity to explore this incredible piece of wilderness without a care in the world. With just a car and a tent, we drove on winding roads with stunning backdrops and shouldered our packs to camp at awe-inspiring locations.
I am very excited to share with you the many adventures we had on our journey over the next few months. For now, I want to get started by giving a sneak peek of the highlights.
Tramping in New Zealand
One of the favorite pastimes in New Zealand is tramping (The Kiwi word for hiking for those who don’t know). Our journey took us to see jaw-dropping beaches, beautiful wildlife, and indescribable landscapes. Here are a few teasers.

Only accessible by low tide. We got super lucky as the low tide corresponded with the sunset. This allowed us to explore this stretch of incredible beach in the golden dying light.

Amazing hike filled with caves, waterfall, views, and wildlife. Our trip came with a bit of additional adventure of being on a ridge during a rainstorm. As a result, Nathan ended up staying at a emergency shelter for a night, probably slept better than Abel and I.

Many of our stories involve sleeping at the most incredible, jaw-dropping places. If these photos don’t inspire you to take a tent to New Zealand, I don’t know what will. #Ididsleepthere
Enjoy!
So this concludes the sneak peak of my adventures in New Zealand; The incredible three weeks where we explored new places, made new friends and pushed ourselves beyond our comfort zones. I can’t wait to share my stories with you and share some tips on how to live out your own adventures in New Zealand.
