  2. Fix a small issue before it becomes a big problem. Basically, treat life like treating blisters.

  3. Don’t give into group think. If something doesn’t feel right, speak up. If you rather do something a different way, talk to your group and be okay to follow your way by yourself.

  4. Do a 360 turn in a dazzling fashion to check for left behind items every time you leave camp or break.

  5. Good friends makes everything better.

  1. Don’t forget to slow down and take care of your body.

  2. It’s okay to spend a hour at a pretty spot to wait for the sunset instead of making your planned miles.

  1. Stop worrying. Things will work out.

  1. Invest in good sleeping bag and mat. That will save you from all the unfortunate camp choices.

It’s not about the progress and not about what others think a thru-hike/life should be. Embrace the highs and lows. Make decisions that’s best for you: take time and go on the adventures that inspires you, stay in towns you enjoy, and most of all, make good friends.
